Trustee Ministry

To ensure that all legal and business documents of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church are in place and that the operations of the Church properly support the vision. The trustees are charged with leadership of the strategic planning, financial management, business administration, facilities, media, legal and personal functions that help undergird the church’s overall ministry. The Trustees serve as a partner to the senior pastor, concentrating on the business affairs of the church so that the pastor can concentrate on the development of the core ministries through which the church fulfills its mission. Trustees should be very spiritual-minded persons, always dependent of our awesome God to provide guidance in decisions that need to be made regarding the church.

All is Well Ministry

Reverend Michael G. Johnson relies and keeps his focus on the Lord and in Psalm 25:5 (KJV) he asks the Lord to “Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.”  That is precisely what he has done in establishing a Ministry in April 2017 to go deeper into God’s resources.
Reverend Johnson’s ALL IS WELL MINISTRY has proven to be successful in honoring the Lord.  It is a beneficial medium to praise and present the Lord to worshipers every first Sunday of the month at 8:00 A.M.

Christian Education Ministry

At Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, we strive to build people.  Christian Education addresses the whole human being. Christian Education involves body, spirit and mind. It involves not only the whole person, but also all of God’s creation as it moves people to learn how to relate to God, neighbor and all of God’s creation. Specifically, in the local church, Christian Education  encompasses every activity which attempts to spiritually uplift the members of the congregation. Christian Education first and foremost involves helping people to be biblically informed.  Christian Education does not only occur in a separate department of the church,  Christian Education is done in every sector of the church. At Mt Gilead, we strive to appropriate the Bible in such a way that it comes alive in the contemporary settings of congregants’ lives.

The following ministries come under the umbrella of the Christian Education Ministry:
  • Church Sunday School
  • Kids for Jesus Ministry
  • Teens for Jesus Ministry

Music Ministry

The scriptural foundation for the vision and mission of the Music Ministry may be rooted in 2 Chronicles 5:13-14:

It came to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying, For He is good; for His mercy endureth forever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the House of God.

Therefore in keeping with biblical purpose and use of music, our primary mission is to magnify and glorify Jesus Christ (Colossians 3:16-17)in everything we do. Furthermore, it is also the mission of the music ministry to facilitate the fulfillment of the overall mission and vision of this church by providing  spirit-led music that  warms the heart, bring people closer to God.   The music ministry seeks to cultivate the musical gifts and talents of singers and musicians by helping them to explore and practice their God given skills.
